OAKLAND — Messalonskee outscored Bangor 35-14 in the second half to earn a 57-43 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference boys basketball win Tuesday.

Nathan Violette scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half for Messalonskee (12-5) while James Lathrop scored 14 of his 17 after halftime. Lathrop also had 10 rebounds.

Bangor (5-12) was led by Ethan Dorman with 22 points.

RICHMOND 65-69, VINALHAVEN 52-49: Zach Small scored a game-high 28 points and Cody Tribbet added 11 as the Bobcats rolled Monday night. On Tuesday morning, Tribbet scored 34 points — including 10 3-pointers — to help the Bobcats finish off the sweep. Small finished with 19 points for Richmond (11-5) as well.

Cody Hamilton turned in two big games for the Vikings (11-7), scoring 23 on Monday and 16 on Tuesday.

WINSLOW 44, ERSKINE 37: Spencer Miranda scored a game-high 16 points and Jack Morneault added six to lead the Black Raiders in South China.

Winslow improved to 10-7.

Caleb Barden and Matt Clary each scored eight points to lead the Eagles (4-13).

CONY 84, CAMDEN HILLS 76: Cony hit 10 3-pointers, led by six from T.J. Cusick, to defeat Camden Hills in Camden.

Cusick finished with a game-high 25 points for the Rams (6-11). Jordan Roddy added 16 points and Nijual Davis 14 points and 13 rebounds. Noah Heidon led the Windjammers (2-15) with 21 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

RICHMOND 60-54, VINALHAVEN 40-43: Richmond got off to a fast start in both games to sweep a sleepover series with Vinalhaven on the island.

Sydney Tilton scored 22 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to lead Richmond to a 60-40 win in Monday night’s game. The Bobcats led 22-5 after the first quarter and never faltered thanks to 12 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and four steals from Kelsea Anair.

Richmond roared out to an 18-8 lead in Tuesday morning’s finale and cruised to the 54-43 win. Caitlin Kendrick scored 13 points to lead the Bobcats (15-2). Gillyanne Davis-Oakes was the only Vinalhaven (13-4) player to reach double figures in both games, totaling 25 points.

MONMOUTH 62, TELSTAR 29: Hannah Anderson and Abbey Allen each scored 11 points to pace the Mustangs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Monmouth.

Tia Day added 10 points and six assists for Monmouth (15-2) and Maddie Amero had 10 points and six rebounds. Haley West pulled in 12 rebounds.

Telstar (0-17) was led by Becca Howard with a game-high 23 points.

BOOTHBAY 61, WINTHROP 14: Page Brown scored a game-high 18 points to pace the Seahawks to the MVC win in Winthrop.

Faith Blethen added 16 points for Boothbay (16-1).

Katie Perkins scored five points to lead Winthrop (2-15).

CARRABEC 47, HALL-DALE 20: Mickayla Willette scored 23 points to pace the Cobras to the MVC win in North Anson.

Liberty Chestnut added nine points for Carrabec (11-6).

Kayla Johnson scored seven points for Hall-Dale (6-11) while Dani Sweet added six.

WINSLOW 66, ERSKINE 37: Heather Kervin scored 19 points to lead the host Black Raiders to the KVAC win.

Maeghan Bernard added 12 points for Winslow (14-3) and Paige Trask chipped in 10.

Erskine (6-11) was led by Mallory Chamberlain with 10 points and Malorie Weaver with eight.

BANGOR 50, MESSALONSKEE 34: Sarah Bragg scored 18 points to spark the Rams to the KVAC A win in Bangor.

Emily Gilmore added nine points for Bangor (9-8).

Sophie Holmes led Messalonskee (14-3) with 14 points while McKenna Brodeur had 11.

CAMDEN HILLS 69, CONY 65: Maddie Bowman led all scorers with 22 points as Camden Hills held off Cony in Augusta.

Cassie Krul added 16 and Maura Dostie 14 for the Windjammers (5-12). Cate Silva led the Rams (2-15) with 16 points while Lauren Murray added 13.

UNIFIED BASKETBALL

CONY 54, HALL-DALE/RICHMOND 45: Matthew Baker scored 20 points and Ethan McGregor added 12 as the Rams held off the Bulldogs in Augusta.

Addie Bowden chipped in with eight points for the Rams (1-10) as well.

Emma Chase scored 12 points and Eric Lombard added eight to lead Hall-Dale/Richmond (0-2). Jasmine Taylor also contributed eight points while Matthew Lorbeski added six for the Bulldogs as well.

UM AUGUSTA 73, UM-FORT KENT 68: Caitlin LaFountain scored 23 points and pulled down 20 rebounds to lead the Moose to a win in Augusta.

Jamie Plummer added 19 points for UM-Augusta (18-6, 10-0 Yankee Small College Conference) while Darby Toth finished with 18 points.

Samantha Carapellucci had 27 points and 14 rebounds to pace UM-Fort Kent (16-5).

USM 57, COLBY 46: Megan Pelletier scored 16 points to lead the Huskies to the non-conference win in Gorham.

Ella Ramonas added 12 points for USM (11-8).

Haley Driscoll scored 12 points to pace Colby (11-9). Mia Diplock added nine points while Carylanne Wolfington chipped in five.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

UMFK 104, UMA 97: Keith Chesley scored 25 points, making him two points shy of 2,000 for his career, but it was not enough as the Moose fell in Yankee Small College Conference action.

Brandon Rogers added 21 points for UMA (11-10, 6-4) while Noah Thompson chipped in 18 points and Joseph Davila 15.

UMFK (18-12) was led by Qaadir Ali with 28 points.

COLBY 71, SOUTHERN MAINE 70: Pat Dickert made a jump shot with 51 seconds left and that proved to be the difference as the Mules picked up a non-conference win in Gorham.

Chris Hudnut led Colby (13-7) with 17 points while Sam Wilson finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Atencio Martin scored 17 points for USM (12-8) in the loss.

BATES 91, UM-FARMINGTON 71: Mike Boornazian led four Bobcats in double figures with 20 points as Bates picked up a win over the Beavers in Farmington.

Josh Britten added 14 points for Bates (10-10) while Shawn Strickland and Malcolm Delpeche chipped in with 11 points apiece.

Ryan Camire had 16 points for UMF (2-16), while Nick Hilton, Eric Berry and Alan Young finished with 10 each.
