AUGUSTA — The high school state skiing championship schedule was altered for a second straight year because of inclement weather.

The Class A and B Alpine races scheduled Tuesday at Mt. Abram (Greenwood) and Black Mountain (Rumford), respectively, were postponed to Wednesday at the same sites.

The A and B Alpine championships will be held Wednesday and Thursday. The Class A competition will be begin both days at 10 a.m., beginning with the girls. The Class B Alpine championships will start at 11 a.m Wednesday with slalom races. The giant slalom races are set to go Thursday at 9 a.m., also beginning with the girls.

The Class A Nordic championships will be held at Titcomb Mountain in West Farmington, beginning Thursday with boys and girls classical runs. The boys and girls freestyle races will be 10 a.m. Friday at Titcomb. The Class B Nordic races are also scheduled Thursday and Friday, only at the Sugarloaf Nordic Center. The classical races begin at 1 p.m. Thursday while the freestyle races will go at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Black Mountain will host the two-day Class C Nordic championships. On Thursday, the classical races will start at 2 p.m., beginning with the girls, while on Friday action begins at 10 a.m.

The Class A Alpine races were postponed a day last season as well.
