STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Sigi Koizar scored 30 points and the University of Maine women’s basketball team beat Stony Brook 60-43 on Saturday for its 10th straight win.

Koizar hit 13 of 19 shots from the field and added seven rebounds and four assists for the Black Bears (22-7, 13-1 America East). Mikaela Gustafsson chipped in eight points and six rebounds while Sophie Weckstrom and Chantel Charles each had six.

Brittany Snow had 19 points for Stony Brook (16-12, 8-7).

Maine plays its final regular season road game of the year on Wednesday at Hartford before finishing the regular season at home against Binghamton on Saturday.

ST. JOSEPH’S 81, ANNA MARIA 58: Kelsi McNamara scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Monks (20-5, 10-1 GNAC) over the Amcats (8-17, 2-9) at the Fuller Center in Paxton, Massachusetts.

McNamara shot 9 of 12 from the field, and had five rebounds and four assists. Emily Benway added 17 points.

Deja Taitt scored 22 points to lead Anna Maria, while Christina Gauvin and Nicole Mareiro each added 12.

UMASS-DARTMOUTH 60, SOUTHERN MAINE 48: Megan Ronaghan had 28 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Corsairs past the Huskies in its regular-season finale in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

Ronaghan shot 12 of 22 from the field, and the Corsairs used a 11-0 run after Southern Maine had taken to a 36-34 lead late in the third quarter to pull away for good.

Beth Castantini added 11 points and six rebounds for the Corsairs.

Megan Pelletier had 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Ella Robinson had 11 points for the Huskies.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 78, SALVE REGINA 60: Alanna Vose and Alicia Brown combined for 49 points to lead the Nor’easters (23-3, 18-0) to a win over the Seahawks (10-15, 9-9) in Biddeford.

Vose had 27 points while Brown scored 22, including seven during a 16-3 second run that gave UNE a 29-13 halftime lead. Meaghan Harden had 22 points for Salve Regina and Allyson Esielionis added 12.

ST. JOSEPH’S (VT.) 72, SMCC 62: Chontayvia Kennedy scored 21 points to lead the Saints (27-1, 13-0 YSCC) past the Seawolves (23-8, 9-4) in the semifinals of the Yankee Small College Conference tournament in Auburn.

The Saints jumped out to a 24-9 lead in the first quarter, and led by as many as 27 points.

Arreonte Anderson had 16 points and six rebounds, while Regina Steele added 14 points and 10 rebounds for St. Joseph’s.

Alicia Hoyt had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Seawolves. Sammie Griffin added 15 points.

 

BASEBALL

CLEMSON 9, MAINE 4: Alex Cabrera had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Black Bears (1-1) in a loss to the Tigers (1-1) at Clemson, South Carolina.

Seth Beer and Adam Renwick each drove in two runs for Clemson, which scored five runs in the second inning and four in the third for a 9-1 lead.
