A man who has been charged with murder in Louisiana is living in Naples with his parents, Cumberland County Sheriff Kevin Joyce said.

Joyce told WCSH-TV that 21-year-old Benjamin Shaw is free on bail after being accused of fatally stabbing 34-year-old Zechariah Casagranda of Bossier City, Louisiana, outside a Louisiana nightclub on Jan. 24.

Louisiana authorities made Joyce aware of the case and asked that his department “periodically check” on Shaw. Joyce told the Portland TV station that Shaw was released on $500,000 bond.

According to the Shreveport Times newspaper, Shaw has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Casagranda, who was stabbed in the Rockin Rodeo’s parking lot. Casagranda was a member of the United States Air Force assigned to Barksdale Air Force Base.

WLOX, a Louisiana TV station, reported that Shaw must adhere to five bail conditions that include physically reporting to the sheriff’s office once a week, surrendering his passport and being prohibited from having any weapons in his possession.

Shaw’s attorney is Jose Baez, the lead attorney for Casey Anthony, the Florida woman who was accused of murdering her child, Caylee. A jury acquitted of Anthony of murder.
