The Bridgton man accused of shooting and killing another man outside his Sebago home on Saturday is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Monday.

David Pinkham, 67, is due in Portland District Court at 1 p.m., according to staff at the Cumberland County Jail. Pinkham was being held without bail Sunday evening on a charge of murder.

He is accused of killing an acquaintance, Charlie Cross, 66, at 331 Hancock Pond Road in Sebago around noon Saturday.

Maine State Police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting and do not have a motive, said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Results of an autopsy were unavailable Sunday from the state medical examiner’s office.

Cross’ girlfriend, Paula Simonds, 59, notified police that Cross had been shot. When reached Sunday evening at her home, Simonds declined to comment.
