Young artists, their families, friends and fans gathered Friday evening at the Upcountry Artists Gallery in Farmington for the opening reception of the Youth Art Month Exhibition.
The show, which began March 4 and runs through April 2, features more than 60 pieces of art made by students of Regional School Unit 9’s four art teachers in grades kindergarten through eight. The gallery is at 161 Main St.
The show coincides with national Youth Art Month, which was founded in 1961 to encourage children’s participation in art.
