Highlights of the Palmyra town meeting and election, held Saturday.

BUDGET: $900,853, approved

MAJOR ITEMS APPROVED: Borrowing $850,000 for road paving.

MAJOR ITEMS REJECTED: None

ATTENDANCE: Estimated 60.

CONTESTED ELECTIONS: Joann Brown, 82 votes, and Vondell Dunphee, 86 votes, each won three-year Board of Selectmen terms. Camille Derosier received 61 votes and was not elected. Incumbent Brian Barrows, with 107 votes, secured another year on the board, defeating Billy Wheeler, who got 37.

Don Mendell was chosen over Cory Dow 86-53 to finish Darren Brigg’s remaining one-year term on the Regional School Unit 19 board of directors. Jennifer Watson received 118 votes unopposed for a three-year term on the school board.
