Readfield author and historian Dale Potter-Clark will give a presentation on the rise and decline of Readfield Depot village. The presentation is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Maranacook Community High School, Millard Harrison Drive, Readfield.

The event, hosted by Maranacook Adult & Community Education, will include information about old homes, buildings, businesses and former residents at “the Depot.”

Registration proceeds will be applied towards creating a Museum in the Streets in Readfield. Cost is $15 or $25 for those who sign-up with a friend.

Booklets with house bios and photos from this section of town will be available for $5. To register, call 685-4923, ext. 1065, or visit Maranacook.maineadulted.org.

A Readfield History Walk will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Readfield Depot. Participants can see some of the places discussed in the March 30 session. Participants should meet outside the Readfield Historical Society.
