Highlights of the Detroit Town Meeting and election, held Saturday.

BUDGET: $336,895, approved

MAJOR ITEMS APPROVED: $90,000 for hot-topping Basford Road; $6,500 for new siding on town hall; residents voted unanimously to change the name of Weeman Road to Taylor Roy Road; voters adopted a driveway entrances and culvert policy that stipulates residents must get a permit to build a driveway and replace driveway culverts if replacements are needed; $42,716 for town employees; $24,500 for town officials; $4,400 for designated accounts including street lights, town charges and legal services; $5,000 for general maintenance of town roads; $65,500 for winter roads; $33,000 for fire department.

MAJOR ITEMS REJECTED: none

ATTENDANCE: 24 people

CONTESTED ELECTIONS: None. Ethan Kelley re-elected selectman for a three-year term. Deborah Killiam re-elected to School Administrative District 53 board of directors for a three-year term.
