No surprise about the cancelation of the great Animal Planet show “Yankee Jungle” (“Report: TV show on Mount Vernon animal sanctuary canceled after magazine probe,” March 19). Obviously they caved to the left-wing radical animal rights groups that are behind it. Groups such as PETA are at the very top of the list and they will not stop until we are all “grass eaters.”
DEW Haven owners and operators of Bob and Julie Miner are two of the nicest people you could find and I do not believe you could find another pair anywhere that care and provide for their animals as they do. Having been a visitor there since the mid-1980s, never once have I seen anything even remotely wrong.
With or without any television show they will without a doubt continue with their great work and share their life’s passion with the public, and I for one thank them.
