I wonder how many people got cut off food stamps even though they met their work exemption.

Our son takes care of us, his disabled parents. For the last two years he has been cut off of food stamps twice. Each year he sends in his work exemption (a letter from our doctor) and then three months later they always say they didn’t receive it. So he will call and tell them, and they will say: “Yes, we did receive it, but failed to post it to your account.” They always have some vague excuse, like not enough workers to process everything, or the computer system is new. Which they say every year.

So our son called Pine Tree Legal, but Pine Tree says they don’t have the resources to go after DHHS. Neither do I, so I guess we will repeat this scenario next year at this time.
