Two men, including one from New York, were arrested Wednesday in Brewer on a charge of trafficking heroin.

Wesley Arnold, 34, of Brewer, had been letting Manuel Nunez, 21, of Bronx, New York, stay at his home on Soucie Lane to sell heroin, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Drug agents and Brewer police officers searched the home around 7 p.m. Wednesday and found 420 bags of heroin with an estimated street value of $15,000, as well as $1,000 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug deals, and, in a second floor bedroom, Nunez, who also goes by Jose Camacho and Gabriel Santana.

Nunez was wanted in New York on a warrant for felony drug trafficking, the news release said.

He was charged Wednesday with aggravated drug trafficking. Arnold was charged with trafficking in heroin.

Both were taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.
