A woman from Brooks was seriously injured Thursday night when her car slammed into trees off I-295 in Richmond, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Terri Sebring, 49, is being treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for what police described as injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Sebring over-corrected after nearly colliding with another car in front of her, according to Trooper Greg Stevens. When her car skidded off the road, it spun around and ended up in the median, police said.
The roof of the car had to be cut away by firefighters. Sebring’s dog escaped injury and was turned over to a Lincoln County animal control officer.
One northbound lane of the interstate in Richmond was closed for about 90 minutes after the 7:30 p.m. accident. Both lanes reopened at 9 p.m.
