A man and woman were arrested and charged Friday in connection with the Monday assault on and robbery of an 82-year-old woman in a Hannaford supermarket parking lot in Augusta, Augusta police said in a news release.

Tylor Reece, 21, of Skowhegan, and Star Black, 24, of Augusta, were found Friday in a Skowhegan residence during the execution of a search warrant. Evidence seized by detectives from Augusta and Skowhegan police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency led to the arrests, police said.

Both were charged with robbery, aggravated assault and theft and might face additional charges for unrelated incidents. Each is being held at the Kennebec County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

The victim was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center with serious injuries and was released from the hospital Thursday, police said. The incident happened at the Cony Street Hannaford about 8 p.m. Monday.

An Augusta police lieutenant said Reece and Black stole the victim’s purse, which contained credit cards, checks and other items.
