NEWPORT — Audrey Davis had three singles and Libby Dunivan pitched a five-hit shutout as the Nokomis softball team blanked Spruce Mountain 5-0 in a Class B game Saturday.

Maci Leali had a double for Nokomis (5-2).

Spruce Mountain dropped to 3-4.

SKOWHEGAN 2, MT. ARARAT 0: The Indians scored a run in the first and third innings and held on for the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in Topsham.

In the first, Skowhegan (3-4) got back-to-back singles by Eliza Bedard and Sydney Ames, who was then doubled in by Wylie Bedard for a 1-0 lead. In the third, Sydney Reed hit a lead-off double and came home on a Julia Steeves single.

Kate Guerin doubled and Kelsey Scannevin singled for Mt. Ararat’s (4-3) only hits.

GIRLS LACROSSE

ERSKINE 7, LINCOLN 5: Katelyn Hustus had a hat trick to lead Erskine to the win in Newcastle.

Hayley Hinds, Audrey Jordan, Christina Hodgkins and Ella Johnson had a goal apiece for Erskine (3-1). Malorie Weaver made 12 saves.

Lauren Gildersleeve and Brinley Harrison scored two goals each for Lincoln (1-3) while McKenzie Beaudoin had the other goal. Emily Huber made six saves.

BASEBALL

NOKOMIS 7, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN. 5: Cody Rice had two hits, including a double to lead Nokomis to a KVAC win over Spruce Mountain in Newport.

Zach Hartsgrove and Dylan Thibodeau also had two hits apiece for the Warriors (4-3). Mike Massow pitched six inning to pick up the victory while Thibodeau closed it out with a scoreless seventh.

VINALHAVEN 5, RANGELEY 4: Lewis Cray drove home Joe Hopkins with the winning run in the seventh inning as Vinalhaven edged Rangeley.

Ethan Anthony hit two doubles for Vinalhaven (4-2). Kyle LaRochelle belted a triple and Bo Beaulieu had two singles and two RBI for Rangeley (3-2).
