I am proud to have been a friend and neighbor of Marti Stevens. Many of us remember her untimely death due to poorly controlled asthma due to her reliance on cheaper medicines that she could afford.

Marti might still be around to continue her good works in person, like the greenhouse at School Administrative District 54 or Lakewood Theater, but the for-profit system of American medicine priced her out of good health care that would have quite possibly kept her with us.

Remember Marti, her seemingly boundless energy and good will, her willingness to help the underdog, and her generous nature, and fight the fight she would be fighting if she were still here.
