An introductory fly-tying course will be taught by instructor Rod McGarry for the Maine Women Fly Fishers. The class will be at the First Parish Congregational Church in North Yarmouth. Reservations required by emailing Evelyn@evelynking.net.

Adventure Race, 8 a.m. in Danforth

Join the students of East Grand School for an annual adventure race that will involve a 1.5-mile off-trail compass run, a 10-mile mountain bike race, 8 miles of paddling, and some obstacles. Competitors can race in pairs, groups or individually. The entry fee is $20 per person, which includes a T-shirt, lunch and prizes for youth divisions. Proceeds benefit the school’s outdoor education program. The registration deadline is May 13.
