AUGUSTA — 150th Celebration Handbell Concert is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at South Parish Congregational Church, 9 Church St. The event will feature Winthrop Area Handbell Ringers, Green Street Methodist Church Handbell Choir, and South Parish Handbell Choir.

As part of a yearlong celebration of the 150th anniversary of the construction of the present building and the construction and installation of the E&GG Hook pipe organ, the people of South Parish Church are continuing a monthly series of events.

The event will also celebrate the refurbishing of the church’s own handbells after more than a decade in storage. A new handbell choir has been formed with high hopes for the future.
