NORWAY – Police say two passers-by rescued a Maine woman from her burning car after she crashed into the back of a school bus in Norway.

Norway police say the woman, 78-year-old Natalie Taylor of Mechanic Falls, was not taken to a hospital but did not require treatment.

School officials say no students were on the bus at the time of the Thursday morning crash.

The Sun Journal reported that two men pried open the driver’s door and pulled Taylor out as flames engulfed the front of the car and the back of the school bus.

Authorities say the bus was parked along the side of Route 26 when the crash occurred. School officials say the driver had dropped students off at an environmental event in Norway.
