BANGOR — Sydney Ames smacked a pair of doubles and turned in a strong relief outing in the circle to help the Skowhegan softball team edge Bangor 7-6 in eight innings in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Monday afternoon.

The Indians tied the game in the seventh before rallying in the eighth to win it. Maliea Kelso and Julia Steeves each had a pair of singles for Skowhegan (7-5).

Emily Gilmore had two hits for Bangor (7-4).

MESSALONSKEE 7, LAWRENCE 1: Hannah Duperry hit a solo home run in the second inning and Madisyn Charest had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A victory in Fairfield.

Kelsey Dillon had two singles and an RBI while Taylor Easler had a pair of hits for the Eagles (10-0-1) as well.

Suther Bickford had two singles and Sarah Chase had a double for Lawrence (2-9).

MADISON 12, MONMOUTH 5: Madeline Wood struck out nine and Erin Whalen drove in a pair to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Madison. Whitney Bess also drove in a pair for Madison (4-7).

Emily Kaplan had two hits for the Mustangs (4-7).

WINSLOW 15, MARANACOOK 1, 5 innings: Hillary Libby struck out eight and hit a home run to lead Winslow to the KVAC B win in Readfield.

The Black Raiders (9-1) scored eight runs in the third inning and got a three-hit performance from Paige Veilleux.

Sidney Cameron had a double for the Black Bears (3-8).

MORSE 19, WATERVILLE 8: The Shipbuilders scored 13 runs in the sixth inning blow the game wide open in Waterville.

Sierra Wallace led a 21-hit attack with a double and three singles for Morse (7-4), while Mikayla Rose, Ali Gagnon and Marissa Parks each collected three hits.

Coby Dangler had a double and two singles for Waterville (1-9). Gabi Martin added a double and a single of her own.

CARRABEC 13, WINTHROP 3: Sam Lebeau struck out seven and added three RBIs, and Brooklynn Moore drove in two more as the Cobras (7-4) cruised to the MVC win in North Anson.

Eight different Carrabec hitters had at least two hits, including Baylee Atwood who had a double and a single in the win.

Kayleigh Oberg had a pair of singles for Winthrop (2-8).

WATERVILLE 6, MORSE 4: Adam Barre had two singles and two RBIs to spark the Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win. Justin Wentworth added a double for Waterville (6-4).

Taylor Shaw had two singles for Morse (3-8).

CARRABEC 7, WINTHROP 6: The Cobras scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead and then held off the Ramblers late to earn the MVC victory. Dustin Crawford pitched the complete game to earn the victory for the Cobras (6-5). Greg Fay doubled for Winthrop (3-7).

EDWARD LITTLE 7, MT. BLUE 1: Jared Plourde had a home run and a single and earned the victory on the mound as the Eddies cruised in a KVAC A game in Farmington.

Tyler Blanchard chipped in two singles for Edward Little (11-0).

Mt. Blue dropped to 1-9.

ERSKINE 13, NOKOMIS 3: Luke Peabody had a double and a bases clearing triple in a three-run fifth inning as the Eagles cruised to the KVAC B victory in Newport.

Noah Bonsant pitched four innings to earn the victory for the Eagles (8-3). Nokomis dropped to 4-7.

LAWRENCE 4, MESSALONSKEE 0: JT Nutting pitched a three-hit, complete game shutout to lead the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

Catcher Devon Webb had two singles and drove in a run for Lawrence (6-5), while Nutting helped his own cause with a pair of hits of his own.

Tyler Lewis had a base hit for Messalonskee (5-6).

MOUNT VIEW 7, LINCOLN 3: Five Mustangs had two hits apiece as they slugged their way to their first win of the season by slugging their way past Lincoln Academy in Thorndike.

Liam Cail had two doubles while Logan Curtis, Cole Hannan, Kevin Richards and Jack Axsom added two singles each for Mount View (1-9). Colby Furrow scored two runs and Mikey Hustus allowed three hits and three walks while striking out 11.
