The corporate headquarters for Sun Tan City New England and SportClips of Northern New England, a haircut salon that caters to men and boys, are relocating to downtown Augusta, according to a news release from Glen Guerrette, developer of 227 Water St.

The building, which is called Riverview Terrace, formerly housed the Lipman & Katz lawfirm.

Sun Tan City New England, the largest chain of tanning salons in New England, moved into the second floor of the building this week, according to the news release. They are relocating from State Street into the downtown area.

“We are excited about our move to downtown, both because of the beauty of the space at 227 Water St., and because of the vibrant community that has grown downtown over the past several years,” Stephen Greenlaw, president of Sun Tan City Consolidated said in the release.

Guerrette described downtown Augusta “as a growing destination for new and growing businesses,” and added that he plans to move his real estate office into the building as well.

“We can’t wait to announce even more exciting things coming to Riverview Terrace soon,” he said.
