SKOWHEGAN — The Friends of the Skowhegan Free Public Library recently donated $5,000 towards the elevator Addition to the Library Renovation Committee.

Receiving the check from Co-Chairs Margo Reid and Jeanne Shay was Campaign Manager Patricia Dickey. The elevator addition is the last phase of the major Renovation and Restoration Project. Preparation for the construction will start within the next few weeks.

Prior to the presentation, Children’s Librarian Angie Herrick spoke about the variety of opportunities offered to the children of the area beyond books, such as community, creativity, learning and experiences. She showed pictures of children of all ages, from toddlers through teenagers, participating in a wide range of activities at the library.
