Caitlyn Young, an eighth-grader and a Cadette Girl Scout in Waterville, seeks gently used instruments of all kinds for her Silver Award project, the highest award a Cadette can earn.

The instruments will be cleaned by Girl Scout Troop 1254 and other band members from the Waterville Junior High School. The instruments will be donated to the Waterville schools to help students who want to learn a musical instrument but the funds are not in the family’s budget to rent or purchase one out right. The schools can give the students an opportunity to learn to play an instrument.

The collection dates are now through June 10. Drop off point is at C.B. Davis Co on Burleigh Street in Waterville.
