AUGUSTA — Maine-ly Harmony a cappella barbershop chorus invites women and girls to visit an open house rehearsal set for 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Salvation Army Center, 36 Eastern Ave.

The evening will include vocal warm-up exercises, songs and refreshments. If you have sung in singing groups, organizers would like to introduce you to this style of four-part harmony. If you like to sing but haven’t had much experience, chorus participants can help you “find your voice”.

Guests should arrive at 6:15 p.m. The group is under the direction of Kathy Greason of Brunswick.

Maine-ly Harmony celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014. Members from all over the state carpool to rehearsals and performances. The group has been honored to open the Legislative session at the State House with the National Anthem, as well as perform the National Anthem for the Portland Sea Dogs.

Previous performances include Senior Spectrum’s Lifestyle Expo at the Augusta Civic Center, the Ronald Reagan 100th birthday celebration in Augusta’s Hall of Flags, the 2015 Maine Harvest Festival at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, the Waterville Opera House, the Sawyer Foundation in Greene, UMA’s Jewett Hall and the Togus Veterans Administration’s 9/11 commemorative services. The group has helped numerous organizations to raise funds, and regularly take part in community functions.
