I live in China, a smaller town in Kennebec County, and understand that candidates running for election in a district made up of multiple towns will tend to focus on the larger towns when seeking votes.

I was surprised to have Patsy Crockett, the current Kennebec County commissioner serving my district, come to my door to talk about the issues. She has years of experience working for the Maine County Commissioners Association, and in the Maine Legislature, where she sponsored a bill that saved Maine property taxpayers $8 million in the first two years.

And she explained her efforts to help address the problem of overcrowding in the Kennebec County jail without the need to board some inmates in other county jails. She gave me good reasons to vote for her, and I will vote for Patsy Crockett on June 14.
