On June 14 my husband and I will be voting for Shenna Bellows for Senate District 14 (Chelsea, Farmingdale, Gardiner, Hallowell, Manchester, Monmouth, Pittston, Randolph, Readfield, West Gardiner and Winthrop).

We watched her run a highly honorable and issue-oriented campaign in 2014 for the U.S. Senate based on a commitment to the people of Maine. As retirees, we are supporting her for many reasons. Her experience in bringing people together from both sides of the aisle in the Legislature is invaluable. Critical to people on fixed incomes is her promise to stop the shift of the state’s fiscal responsibilities from the state budget onto local municipalities that has caused harmful property tax increases to people on fixed incomes. Those of us who worked our careers and now live on pensions cannot absorb these tax increases.

Shenna Bellows has always supported us. Now, we support her.
