Patsy Crockett, our recently appointed Kennebec County commissioner, must now win the Democratic primary on June 14 in order to continue her service representing the people of Augusta, Chelsea, China, Manchester, Sidney, Vassalboro and Windsor. I will vote for her, and encourage my fellow Democrats to join me in supporting her.

Crockett brings her years of experience working for the Maine County Commissioners Association and the Maine Sheriffs Association as their association manager. In those positions she developed expertise on many of the issues affecting Maine counties and understands the actions counties can take to improve and strengthen their governance. Neither of her opponents have this important and focused experience, which she earned over her 10 years working with these associations.

This experience, along with her service as a legislator, and many years working in business, make her the most qualified person to be our commissioner.
