MONMOUTH: Nick Sanborn struck out 11 in six innings and combined with Hunter Richardson on a four-hit shutout as No. 1 Monmouth blanked No. 9 Dirigo 3-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Sanborn allowed the four hits, three walks and hit a batter before giving way to Richardson to close it out in the seventh. Chandler Harris led the Mustangs (17-0) with two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Travis Hartford, Richardson and Sanborn each drove in a run. Mason Corriveau allowed seven hits while going the distance on the mound for the Cougars (11-7).

Monmouth will host No. 4 Sacopee Valley in the semifinals at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

BREWER 6, LAWRENCE 3: Matt Pushard earned the win for the Witches in Class A North quarterfinal play in Brewer.

No. 4 Brewer (11-6) will face top-seed Bangor (16-1) on Saturday in the semifinals. No. 5 Lawrence ends the season at 9-8.

Ahead 4-3 in the sixth inning, Brewer got some insurance runs on a Logan Rogerson triple and RBI hit by Pushard. Lawrence had cut the lead to one run with a run in the top of the inning. The Witches led 4-0 after two innings, before Lawrence began to chip away at the deficit.

Devon Webb hit two doubles for Lawrence.

ST. DOMINIC 3, HALL-DALE 2: Mack Pelletier’s bloop single with two out in the bottom of the seventh scored the tying and winning runs to send No. 2 St. Dominic past No. 7 Hall-Dale in a Class C South quarterfinal in Auburn.

Dean Jackman doubled and Cole Lockhart drove in a run to lead the Bulldogs (13-5), who left 13 runners on base. Ryan Sinclair went the distance on the mound, allowing three hits, two earned runs and six walks (one intentional) while striking out eight.

Gavin Bates allowed three hits while going the distance on the mound for the Saints (15-2).

LISBON 3, MADISON 0: Tyler Halls threw a one-hitter to lead the Greyhounds to the Class C South quarterfinal win in Madison.

Halls walked five and struck out eight. Chase Malloy had the lone Madison hit. Four Madison errors contributed to three unearned runs for Lisbon.

No. 6 Lisbon (13-5) will move on to the semifinals. No. 3 Madison ends the season at 14-3.

HERMON 13, WATERVILLE 6: The Hawks took the Class B North quarterfinal win in Hermon.

No. 3 Hermon (13-4) will host No. 10 Nokomis (11-7) in the semifinals. No. 6 Waterville ends the season at 12-6.

Waterville held an early 5-1 lead before the Hawks rallied to take the win.
