A Waterboro man accidentally shot himself while drawing his pistol Sunday afternoon, York County Sheriff William King said.
The incident occurred about 2 p.m., when deputies and paramedics responded to a report of a gunshot wound at a Lake Arrowhead home.
King said the man, whom he did not identify, was drawing his 1911-style pistol from an inside-the-waistband holster when the firearm discharged and wounded him in the hip-buttocks area.
The victim was transported by Waterboro Rescue with non-life threatening injuries, King said.
