Two women won seats on the Fayette Select Board with identical vote totals of 73.

Lacy Badeau took back a seat she had held five years ago and Nancy Cronin moved onto the board after spending a number of years on the town’s Budget Committee.

The other candidates were Bob Weimont with 66 votes and Richard Davis with 63 votes.

Tammy Maxwell, with 54 votes, won the single seat on the Fayette School Board.

Incumbent Alanna Stevenson garnered 53 votes and Raymond Braithwood, 33.

Seven people had sought office in Fayette. All the terms of office are three years.

Fayette Town Manager Mark Robinson said the winning candidates will be sworn in prior to the first meeting in July.

Tuesday’s election precedes the business portion of the annual Town Meeting, which begins 9 a.m. Saturday at Fayette Central School.

Badeau, 37, previously was elected as a write-in to finish an unexpired term as selectwoman. She works part time for Regional School Unit 73 and earned a degree in business economics from the University of Maine at Farmington.

Cronin, 45, who went to Cony High School, is executive director of the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council and has a son at Fayette Central School.

Maxwell, 49, grew up on a farm in Fayette and attended Fayette Central School. She then lived in Livermore Falls, moving back to Fayette four years ago.

Maxwell said she spent 15 years as a Girl Scout leader, never sought public office previously, and is retired because of a disability.
