Voters in Richmond and Winthrop chose town leaders on Tuesday.

In Richmond, Ryan Chandler won the selectman’s seat being vacated by board Chairman Peter Warner.

Chandler garnered 215 votes in the three-way race. Karen Hixson took 135 votes, and Ryan Shea took 53.

Chandler, 41, who has worked in a number of capacities for town government, including code enforcement officer and plumbing inspector, has served most recently as a member of the Budget Committee. A senior manufactured housing inspector for the state of Maine, Chandler said before the election that he wanted to serve in a role that would allow him to make budget decisions.

Three Winthrop residents were on the Tuesday ballot to compete for a council term that runs through the rest of the year.

Voters chose Barbara Buck with 335 votes to continue serving in the seat of her late husband, Ken Buck Sr.

Barbara Buck had been appointed on an interim basis.

Buck works for the state Department of Administrative and Financial Services.

Also in Tuesday voting, James King received 207 votes and Aaron White 202 votes in their bids for the same seat.
