AUGUSTA — A former Oakland woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to drug offenses that occurred in October 2015 in Gardiner, and she agreed to forfeit three firearms and $11,490 in cash seized at that time.

Jaymie Leigh Logan, 31, of Wilton, was sentenced to an initial nine months in prison, with the remainder of the four-year sentence suspended. She was placed on probation for two years and fined $400.

At the hearing in the Capital Judicial Center, Assistant Attorney General Katie Sibley said Logan was charged with unlawful trafficking in heroin after an informant, working with an officer of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, gave Logan $180 in cash for a gram of heroin. The offense occurred Oct. 20, 2015, in Gardiner.

Logan also agreed to the forfeiture, where agents seized the cash and guns on Oct. 26, 2016, also in Gardiner. Sibley said more money was seized, but some of it was buy money belonging to the drug enforcement agency.

On Wednesday, the Gardiner City Council is scheduled to consider a motion accepting the forfeited items because the Gardiner police made “a substantial contribution to the investigation,” according to the proposed motion.

The firearms would go to the police and the cash to the city’s general fund, the city manager said.

Logan also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of drugs and operating while her license was suspended Aug. 3, 2015, in Rome, as well as charges relating to a traffic stop May 15 in Waterville. Logan was a passenger at the time, and she told police a spoon with heroin residue was hers. She also pleaded guilty to failure to give her correct name.

Additional charges of unlawful possession of drugs and operating after suspension were dismissed in exchange for her guilty pleas.

Logan also was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury in May on drug charges.

Logan, who said little during the hearing except to plead guilty, was represented by defense attorney Stephen Bourget.

A co-defendant, Tyrone Sanders, 27, of Bronx, New York, also agreed to the forfeiture.

He is serving an 18-month sentence for unlawful trafficking in heroin.
