PALERMO — Millard Howard, a local historian, will be the keynote speaker at the 14th annual meeting of the Palermo Community Library at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10.

Howard’s first edition of “An Introduction to the Early History of Palermo, Maine” was written in 1976.

Howard’s emphasis will be on his Second Edition completed in 2014, which revises and greatly expands the previous edition. Copies of his recent book will be available for purchase.

Local high honor students, grade 8, and accelerated readers, grades 5-8, will also be recognized for their achievements in the Accelerated Reader program.
