WINTHROP — A Cow Chip Challenge and Family Carnival is set for 4-8 p.m. Saturday, July 16, on the fields behind Winthrop Grade School.

Twenty-five hundred squares will be sold for $1 each. A cow will be released onto the field of squares, if the cow lays it’s “chips” in your square first — you win!

This event is sponsored by the Alfred W Maxwell American Legion Post 40 to benefit Winthrop Youth Football. Events to include: Cow Chip Challenge, carnival games for all ages, concessions, dunk tank, silent auction, face painting and more.

Other sponsors include Charlie’s Chevrolet of Winthrop, Alba-Technic, LLC and Audette’s ACE Hardware.
