WATERVILLE — The Mid-Maine Global forum will host Nicholas Burns as a special guest speaker at the annual summer dinner program set for 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center, Colby College. “Why America Matters: Foreign Policy Advise for the Next President” will be the topic.

At Harvard, Burns is director of the future of diplomacy project and faculty chair for the programs on the Middle East, and on India and South Asia. He has 27 years of experience in foreign service, is director of the Aspen strategy group, and has written numerous commentaries for the Boston Globe and other publications.
