RANGELEY — The first Rangeley Lakes Fly In & Air Show is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Steven A. Bean Municipal Airport (8B0), 32 Hangar Road.
A fly in for pilots is planned and the airplanes will be on display for spectators. Local pilots also will come together to provide the spectators with a fly over with both land and float planes.
Static displays will include airplanes, helicopters and antique automobiles. Attending the static display will be the United States Border Patrol and the Marines Heavy Helicopter Squadron 772 with the CH53E Super Stallion. Dan Marcotte from Marcotte Air Shows will give an aerobatic performance and a race down the runway in his Jet Car starting at noon. Acadian Air will provide helicopter or plane rides throughout the day.
Three award-winning restaurants will serve breakfast and lunch, The Ginger Bread House, Bald Mountain Camps and The Shed. Vendors include aviation, arts and crafts, furniture, and motorized sporting equipment.
“Say What?!” a group of local musicians, will provide music throughout the day.
Rangeley Lakes Seaplane Base (M57) is on Rangeley Lake and transportation will be available to the air show.
