Robert and Nancy (True) Godfrey from Oakland, Maine celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the home of Peter and Cheryl Godfrey in Oakland.
The couple were married on June 4th, 1951 at the United Church in Monmouth.
Mrs. Godfrey was employed by Beneficial Financial l Company, while Mr. Godfrey worked at Harry J. Smith Company in Waterville.
They have three children: Daughter Faye Trafton and Son in law Gary Trafton of Manchester, Son Peter Godfrey and daughter in law Cheryl Godfrey of Oakland, Son Paul Godfrey and daughter in law Mary Godfrey of Cape Elizabeth.
They also have seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Extended family attended from across the state, including sister Noella Safford from Monmouth and sister in law Eleanor Godfrey of Oakland.
