GLENBURN — Maine authorities say alcohol and speed are being investigated as potential factors in a crash that killed two teenagers.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department identified the victims Monday as Tyler Babcock, 18, and Alex Chabre, 17, both of Bangor.
Investigators say the crash happened Sunday morning when the Toyota Corolla driven by Babcock went out of control and hit several trees. The two friends died at the scene.
Sheriff Troy Morton said the investigation is continuing but he said alcohol and speed were potential contributing factors that were being investigated.
