A Buxton man was killed Monday evening when his pickup truck veered off Route 25 in Standish, crossed a lawn, and hit a tree.
Steven LaCourse, 46, died at the scene, Capt. Scott Stewart of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
LaCourse was the only occupant in the 2014 Nissan Titan pickup, and alcohol and speed are not considered to have been factors in the crash.
Stewart said LaCourse was driving south in the area of 950 Ossipee Trail – also known as Route 25 – around 5:27 p.m. when he veered off the road.
Traffic on Route 25 from Manchester Road to the Limington town line was reduced to one lane while investigators reconstructed the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation.
