MOUNT VERNON — A mushroom walk with Barbara Skapa is set for 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 27, starting at the Dr. Shaw Memoria Library parking lot.
Attendees are encouraged to wear clothing suitable for hiking; bring a basket or bag, and a small knife for collecting mushrooms. The walk may be local, or might involve a short car trip to get to another location.
Preregistration is required, to register, call the library at 293-2565, email drshaw@shaw.lib.me.us or stopping by.
A donation to benefit the library is recommended and can be contributed the day of the event.
