WATERVILLE — The Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter will host a Volunteer Recruitment Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the Fireplace Room of the Waterville Public Library.

The Mission of the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter is to end homelessness in Mid-Maine one person, one family, one child at a time. The organization provides more than just a bed and a meal for its guests. Guests are paired with one of the in-house case managers to create an action plan to obtain stable housing and prevent homelessness in the future.

In the past year, the shelter provided a temporary home for 391 people, with one in every four guests being children younger than 18.
