The editorial in Aug. 26 newspaper, “Message to America: We’re sorry for LePage,” was well-stated, especially in light of the governor’s ensuing rant against Rep. Drew Gattine. Saying you are sorry while not doing anything to change the offensive behavior, however, is not much of an apology.
The offensive behavior is, of course, LePage’s. It is the Legislature who can do something to stop it. The Legislature can convene to impeach him. Failing that, we need to render him impotent for the next two years by not re-electing any of his allies and defenders in the Legislature, starting with House Minority Leader Ken Fredette.
LePage has already done enough damage. Maine should not tolerate another two years of the same.
