To their shame the Maine Republican House members have put partisan loyalty above their responsibility to the citizens of the state of Maine.
Considering the past and most recent actions of Paul LePage, which by any measure have been abusive, irrational, profane and far beyond the bounds of civil discourse, the Republican House members have elected to ignore or minimize the actions of the top executive of our state, and concentrate upon maintaining their majority.
Would any of the apologists in the House or the Senate allow their children to listen to Paul LePage’s invective? The time has come for the members of both houses and both parties to accept that the only option to preserve the dignity of the office of chief executive is to demand Paul LePage’s resignation.
The apologies of an abuser ring hollow, and forced contrition is meaningless, as the abuse will inevitably repeat itself. Paul LePage must resign.
