Police from the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a single-vehicle crash involving five young people Tuesday evening in Sidney.
A Ford Focus sedan carrying five young people, all 18 or younger, was traveling north on Middle Road around 7:15 p.m. when it appears the driver lost control, said Sgt. Mike Dutil.
The car rolled over and went into a ditch, he said on the phone Tuesday night, causing minor injuries to some of the people in the car.
Three people were taken to the hospital, Dutil said.
The state police K-9 unit responded to the scene initially as well.
Police are looking into whether speed or alcohol were involved in the crash, Dutil said.
No further information was available at this time due to an ongoing investigation, the ages of those involved and pending charges.
