MONROE — The Waldo County Extension Association will hold its annual meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at North Branch Farm, 122 Stream Road.
North Branch farm is a family owned and run, horse-powered, MOFGA certified organic farm located on 330 acres of fields and woodland specializing in producing fresh and storage winter vegetables, farmstead cave aged cheese, grass-fed beef, pork, and PYO highbush blueberries and fruit trees.
The farm is also working on alternative cropping strategies to reduce tillage while maintaining weed control in their vegetable crops. The farm is an example of an integrated crop and livestock operation.
The meeting will include election of new members and officers, acceptance of new by-laws and acceptance of the budget request for 2017; the public is welcome.
Farm tours will begin at 5 p.m. with the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
