A Topsham man was arrested Friday on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor under 12 and unlawful sexual contact, police said.

Henry A. Eichman, 56, of Pleasant Street was arrested about 7 a.m. after police executed a search warrant at his home.

He was charged with two counts each of sexual exploitation of a minor under 12, unlawful sexual contact and violation of privacy. He was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. He is expected to make his first court appearance Monday in West Bath District Court.

Police wouldn’t confirm that Eichman is the same man who leads the Midcoast Youth Theater group. The organization’s website says that Henry Eichman founded the community theater troupe in 2003 and is its director. One member of the Midcoast Youth Theater board said “no comment” and hung up when a reporter called Friday night. Attempts to reach other members of the board were unsuccessful.

A Facebook page for Henry A. Eichman of Topsham contains an ad for the Midcoast Youth Theater production of “Aladdin Jr.” and contains photos that appear to match the booking photo provided by police.
