A Fairfield man is being held on bail at the Somerset County Jail after his arrest over the weekend on charges of possessing and disseminating child pornography.
Robert W. Card, 32, is charged with two counts of possession of sexually explicit materials and two counts of dissemination of sexually explicit material, according to records from Skowhegan District Court.
He was arrested on a warrant from Maine State Police on Saturday.
The alleged offenses took place between Oct. 21 and Jan. 26, according to the court records, and involved children under the age of 12.
The pornography was found on Card’s computer, which has been seized by police. There were no local victims, according to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland.
In an initial court appearance Monday, Card pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He is being held on $2,000 cash bail or $20,000 in property and if released is not allowed to have contact with children under the age of 18.
Card is next scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 26.
