The Taste of Wayne Autumn Harvest Dinner is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at The Former Place Homestead, 15 Memorial Park Lane. Cocktails on the lawn will begin at 5:30 p.m. The event is the first in a series of seasonal farm-to-table dinners featuring multi-course meals made from local ingredients.

The dinner will feature ingredients sourced straight from the farms, gardens and food producers of Wayne and neighboring towns.

Guests can take a seat at a farm table in a field in Wayne to eat a five-course meal highlighting the autumn harvest. All guests can take home their dinner plate, made with Wayne clay by a local potter.

All proceeds will benefit Sustain Wayne’s Masonic Hall Project, the renovation of an old building in town that will be repurposed in a multi-use setup that will include a community kitchen, public space and theater.

One of the main missions of the community kitchen will be to prepare food made only using local ingredients, so these dinners are a chance to show what a menu using only local products might look like.

Tickets cost $100 each and are available at Old Firehouse Farm, 519 Main St.
