The Oakland Recreation Department will offer its annual fall foliage trip for area senior citizens on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Departure is set for 8:30 a.m. from the rear parking lot next to the Baptist church on Church Street. Return is set for 3:30 p.m.

This year’s journey is through the western Maine mountains. A stop for lunch is planned at the Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley. Participants can order from the regular menu and will be responsible for the cost of their lunch.

The trip is free to residents and $2 per person for nonresidents.

Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made by calling the Town Office at 465-7357.
