The other day I answered a phone call at my home purporting to be a survey. The survey questions made “did you know…” statements about candidates for state Senate, Bryan Cutchen and Shenna Bellows, and then asked if that information would sway me to vote for one or the other candidate. The statements about Cutchen were glowing while the statements about Bellows were hateful.
This in fact was no survey but a shameful way to falsely and maliciously attack Bellows, who I know to be honest and hardworking. I am surprised that the Cutchen campaign would engage in such dishonest and uncivil attacks and think that this would gain votes.
I am more resolved than ever after this “survey” to vote Bellows for state senator. I know she will campaign civilly and positively as expected by Mainers.
